Dundee - 'City of Discovery' - is Scotland's fourth largest city. The city centre and many tourist attractions are within walking distance of the University, including Claypotts Castle, Dudhope Castle and Dundee Law. Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen are all within 1 and 1 ½ hour’s drive. Daily flights connect Dundee and London City airports.
University of Dundee has over 18,000 students (including 9,500 full-time undergraduates) across seven faculties, including Duncan of Jordanstone College, the art and design faculty which has won itself an international reputation.
Credit system
Each Dundee course is typically worth 20 SCOTCATs, and students are expected to complete 60 SCOTCATs per semester. Students should therefore usually take three courses per semester to be considered a full-time student.
Academic calendar
The first (autumn) semester begins in September and runs through to December. Semester two commences in January, finishing in May.
