More than 1500 people flocked to Massey University’s Manawatū campus yesterday to experience what it is like to study at the University.

Everything was on offer - from sheep milking simulations to running across a pit of oozing oobleck – all while ducking into hubs across the university for presentations, tours and workshops.

However, Open Day isn’t all about study, with a big portion of the activities focusing on advertising the amazing experience of student life on campus with tours of the Halls of Residence, local eateries and the Recreation Centre, as well as highlighting what it is like studying by distance.

Massey’s diverse study options were highlighted, showcasing the University’s best and brightest and arming potential students with everything they need to know before making a decision about what and where to study.

The tour of the Veterinary Sciences buildings was as popular as ever, but the action didn’t stop on campus either. Buses took visitors to the Milson Flight Systems Centre at the Airport to learn about careers in aviation.

The College of Humanities and Social Sciences hosted a special lecture called ‘Shout it out!’, focusing on the voice of youth and letting them be heard and attended by Palmerston North Labour MP and Massey alumni Iain Lees-Galloway.
