Concept Design – Bachelor of Design with Honours
Imagine new worlds with Massey's Bachelor of Design with Honours (Concept Design). Learn how to design concepts for entertainment and education within film, animation, television, gaming, and location-based experiences.
Film Production – Bachelor of Screen Arts with Honours
The Film Production major offers comprehensive, practical filmmaking, covering all aspects of film production including creative development, pre-production, production and post-production.
Visual Communication Design – Bachelor of Design with Honours
Visual communication is one of the most universal forms of design. It is at the heart of how our world works; guiding, informing, persuading, and inspiring us every day.
Master of Design – MDes
In the Master of Design, you’ll produce innovative and responsive design work that is thoroughly grounded in design research methodologies and expertly realised.
Diploma in Creative Arts – DipCreativeArts
You’ll study with art and design degree students in a range of studio and lecture-based courses covering everything from critical and contextual studies, to social media, painting, and digital fabrication.
Certificate in Creative Arts – CertCreativeArt
Massey’s Certificate in Creative Arts is a flexible qualification that will introduce you to the basics of art and design - creative thinking, visual communication, specialist skills, and critical awareness.

We have a wide range of first-class facilities available to our students.
Film production facilities
Our facilities are among the best in Australasia and include:
- colour grading suites
- editing tools
- lighting gear
- green screen
- motion capture suite, including 24 camera Vicon motion capture array.
Plus borrow high-end equipment for your projects.

Tech store
The Tech Store offers a wide range of industry-standard equipment that screen arts and music students can borrow – cameras, lighting, sound equipment and much more.
Experienced technical staff are on hand to offer recommendations and advice.
Art facilities
Use the world-class facilities at our College of Creative Arts – Toi Rauwhārangi to develop your skills and master new techniques. We have a metal workshop and a darkroom, as well as studios for fine arts, printing, photography and more.
Filming
Filming studios including HD camera set up with teleprompter, green screens and controllable lighting rigs. Audio, video and lighting equipment necessary to conduct mobile, on-site filming.
Audio
Our world-class equipment and facilities include:
- audio booths for interviews or podcasting
- dubbing theatre
- live-rooms controlled by two of the world’s most sought-after desks – 72ch Neve and 48ch SSL Duality analogue console
- studio equipped with the latest Avid hardware.
Editing and visual effects
Leading-edge digital production and post-production tools including high-end digital cameras with green screen and lighting gear, motion capture facilities and post-production.
Video editing classroom/labs with iMacs with Adobe CC video editing applications. Some labs have video recording and live streaming.
Cinema
